Medicine Man is Coming!

What is the funniest play ever written? Some experts will say Moliere’s “The Doctor in Spite of Himself.” Well, for the 16th Annual Dinner Theatre play we have chosen a play that is based on Moliere’s masterpiece. It’s called “The Medicine Man,” by David Grote. The play follows the misadventure of Samuel P. Sagamore, who is described by his wife as a “miserable, worthless piece of desert driftwood; a lily-livered snake-oil salesman and A-number-one-coward.” By a stroke of coincidence that you find only in happy farces like those by Shakespeare and Moliere, Sagamore pretends to be a doctor in order to “heal” the young daughter of a wealthy California rancher so he might claim the reward.

This year’s cast features several newcomers to the Brook Hill stage, as well as a number of veteran actors including Claire Dixon, Sheri Russell and Kyle Webb. The menu, as always, will be delectable.  The menu includes French cut pork chops with maple glaze, roasted red potatoes with rosemary, green beans with baby carrots and a scrumptious dessert of an apple turnover with caramel drizzle and cream.
