Middle School Science

8th Grade Lab:

Eighth graders have been reviewing the scientific method in class this week.  To demonstrate their understanding of the process, students were given a marble, a ramp and some books to decide on a question which could be answered with those supplies.  Next, they wrote a hypothesis and the steps which they would follow.  Finally, they were able to actually do the investigation.

6th Grade Lab:

Sixth graders have been studying the process skills of science.  To demonstrate their understanding of observing and inferring, they were challenged to observe four liquids by using four of their five senses, drop a powder in the liquids and see the response of the liquids to ice.  They then used their observations to make inferences to identify the liquids.
