Moon Craters

Third graders are learning about the moon.  In lab this week, craters were made by dropping marbles from different heights.  Students found that the craters became larger as they dropped the marble from higher points.  Then, they tested their jump height to see how high they could jump on the moon by multiplying their jump height on earth times 6.  After all, the moon has only 1/6th of the gravity on earth.
