Spaces: Our New Residential Life Suite
From the desk of Shawn Rhoads, Director of Residential Life:
One of the things that makes life enjoyable is having special spaces that we can retreat to. It may be a back yard or garden for an adult, a tree house or fort for a kid, or maybe our own rooms, regardless of our age.
For our boarding students many find the new Residence Life Suite to be that special place of retreat. We designed this area with our kids in mind. On beautiful days, like the morning that this photo was taken, the guys and gals can step out onto the Res Life balcony and kick back in the Adirondack chairs. Or if they prefer, they can congregate around the coffee and cocoa station that we’ve set up for them.
Every morning at about 10:45 Mrs. White, the Res Life Administrative Assistant, and I start looking for the kids to show up. It seems that their numbers increase with each passing week, which is exactly what I want. Special spaces make special days. The new Res Life Suite is just one of those special spaces that we have created and provided for our boarding students.

Here are some of our students enjoying the suite during their campus life block at school. Students are working on projects together, hanging out, drinking coffee, and catching up on their school day.
