Oasis Day Information

From the desk of Shawn Rhoads, Director of Campus Ministry:

Easter Week has always been a very special week in the history of Brook Hill, and this year is no exception.  Next week we will once again have OASIS Week, culminating with a day of service, hence the acronym OASIS (Others Are Served Instead of Self).  Read below for all the details pertaining to this spiritually significant week.  Students will show up for school at normal times Monday through Thursday, and depart at normal times on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Thursday is a shorter day, due to the service project day.

Monday

– Middle School and Upper School chapels with music led by Worship Pastor and Christian recording artist, Todd Wright and message delivered by Dr. William Brown, former President of Cedarville University, apologist and worldview expert. Chapels will be separate and each held in the Commons [look for schedules from your (child’s) principal].

– Special Student gathering, Redefined, at the Coffee Cabin with Dr. Brown for an informal Q&A time. 6:30 – 8:30 PM.

Tuesday

– Middle School and Upper School chapels – same times
Special Parent gathering at the Coffee Cabin with Dr. Brown.  The discussion will center around the culture in which students are growing up and how parents can best equip them and assist them.  While this will be the primary focus of the evening, the conversation can take in other pertinent topics as well.  6:30 – 8:30 PM.

Wednesday

– Middle School and Upper School chapels – same times

– No special activity planned due to church services

Thursday

– OASIS Day.  Brook Hill Middle and Upper School students will go throughout the East Texas community, serving in the name of Christ.  Parents will receive information from their child’s Principal and Advisor regarding details concerning this day, including schedule, location of service and attire for the day.

Parents and students alike, please join me in praying that this coming week will be incredibly powerful in the lives of our student body and our school.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
