Fifth graders were given the challenge to build a model of an oil derrick using 8 marshmallows, 6 linguine, and 16 pieces of spaghetti.  Derricks had to stand for at least 30 seconds to qualify as a winner.  Derricks were then measured for height.  The winning derricks were made by William Roberts and Clay Kelly in Mrs. Gibson’s class and Gavin Rhea and Mason Barker in Mrs. Savage’s class.
