Orchestra Performances
Last weekend, the Brook Hill Orchestra served the community and represented Brook Hill well with their exciting & elegant performances at Mistletoe & Magic and the Genny Wood Art Show.
On Friday, Nov 6th the Brook Hill Orchestra consisting of the US & 8th grade Orchestras performed at Mistletoe & Magic playing a variety of Christmas music —everything from Mozart’s Shepherd King Overture to a beautifully arranged medley of Carol of the Bells intertwined with Greensleeves to the dynamic Trans-Siberian Orchestra finale rock piece, Wizards in Winter. We were blessed to have academic counselor, Mrs. Celia Tucker join the orchestra to add extra zest to a couple of our pieces. This year was the largest Brook Hill Orchestra ensemble, 31 piece, to ever perform at Mistletoe & Magic and they gave a dynamic performance!
Brook Hill Orchestra members consisting of violinists Bailey Bickerstaff, Denise Tan, Christies Kim, Merton Li, Jackson Fath; violist, James Shipp; cellists, Brian Guo & Hayden Gardner; clarinetists, Alan Zhu & Maggie Newman; and pianists, Bolun Zhang & Hae In Park provided classical chamber music at the 8th Annual Genny Wood Art Show on Saturday, Nov 7th. After the ensemble concluded their performance, Bolun Zhang continued to play as piano soloist completely thrilling the audience with his technical facility and musicality.
