Bravo & Congratulations to US & 8^th Grade Orchestra musicians for their outstanding performances and achievements at yesterday’s TPSMEA (Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association) Regional Instrumental Solo & Ensemble contest held at TK Gorman High School.  All the students put in a great amount of preparation which resulted in 20 Superior 1 ratings and two Excellent 2 ratings!

8^th Grade Orchestra class (which includes 6^th grader, Maeci Wilson) is credited with 5 of those Superior ratings – 2 Ensemble performances and 3 solo performances – violinists, Colm Conneen  & Jackson Fath and cellist, Hayden Gardner.

The following students received a Superior 1 rating on their performance of a Class 1 (highest difficulty level) piece and advance to the State Solo & Ensemble contest in May —  Entr’acte String Quartet – Hannah Windsor, Denise Tan, James Shipp & Alex Ellis; Allegro String Quartet – Minseo Kwak, Christie Kim, Merton Li & Brian Guo;  solo pianist, James Shipp;  violinists, Hannah Windsor, Denise Tan, Merton Li & Colm Conneen;  cellists, Alex Ellis & Brian Guo; and clarinetist, Alan Zhu!
