Students are getting to know each other while creating Photomontage Self Portraits in Art.

We have a lot of new students at Brook Hill this year and about 1/3 of our Art 1 class is comprised of new students. Students started out with “the Top 10 things you should know about me” and then they introduced their partner to the class. The photomontage is a visual representation of the student and an extension of his/her verbal introduction.

A photomontage is more than just a scrapbooking collage. Photomontage is an art form where all of the individual images are arranged to form another, larger image. Students work from a rubric to complete their self-portrait montage. These pieces of art will be used as the cover of their art folders for the year.
