Prayer: Praises and Requests

From the desk of Ginger Bell, Director of Family and Alumni Relations: As you may know, we have been supporting Brook Hill mom, Christi Wyatt Zimmerman, with prayer as she travels through her journey with ALS.  The desire of her heart has always been that the Lord be glorified through this journey, and He has provided another means for this to happen.  See how to pray for her in this recent Facebook post:

Melissa Herring (my pastor’s wife, dear friend, and mentor) and I leave for Israel/Ethiopia within the month for this amazing opportunity to serve others through God’s Grace (in Israel) and Hope International (in Ethiopia). For the past 3 years I have been to Peru every summer, to serve through missions with an amazing long term team there. This summer that dream didn’t come true for me again, as God closed all the doors. I was a little anxious and sad about those closed doors… thinking, “Will I ever do missions again?” I questioned God about His plan, knowing I had a willing heart, so why wasn’t He sending me out? But, I remained hopeful; I’ve learned HE knows best. It seemed that He was up to something and that He had something different planned. He did… Israel and Ethiopia and on the SAME trip! Isaiah 43:19. This is going to be a major challenge for me physically, so please please pray for this trip. Pray for my health, ability to walk, my strength, and endurance. Pray for HEALING and BELIEVE that with me! I will walk where Jesus walked and healed people 2000 years ago, I’m going to be a little closer to “home”, so why not? Please pray for Melissa as she is going to share this spiritual and emotional journey with me, but to also physically help me as needed. And most of all pray that the Lord will rock our world… I like to leave my mission trip prayer open, so that He can blow our minds with His goodness! Nothing NOTHING is sweeter.
