From the desk of Ginger Bell, Director of Family and Alumni Relations:  Praises to our Father for such a special evening Monday night for Founder’s Day.  Dr. Tony Evans presented the Truth and stressed the significance of a spirit-filled family who relies on God’s Truth not the world’s.  The weather was chilly (a great reminder summer is passed!) but we just sat more closely to each other and fellowshipped together.  With ALL the rain we had for days prior to the event, who would have thought we would be able to proceed as planned.  But, I know the Development Office and others were praying faithfully!

We do have a request for prayers this week.  Please pray for our own Cecilli Kennedy, 10th grade, and her family.  Cecilli’s brother, Trystan passed away suddenly on Tuesday from complications of Sickle Cell Anemia.  He was just a young man in his early 20’s and his passing has been such a heartache for Cecili, her mother Cecilia and the rest of the family.  His first cousins, TyJuan and TyShaun Cannon are in 6th grade at Brook Hill and are grieving, too.  When I checked with Cecilia about including this request in this week’s blog, she said, “Oh, please do!”  She knows we are praying for the whole family.   Service information is as follows:  Community Funeral Home, 431 North Main, Jacksonville.
