PreK Plants a Garden
In honor of Earth Day, Mrs. Bell’s PreK class planted flowers, fruits, vegetables, and herbs in their new PreK Garden! Students each brought their own plants to place in the garden boxes outside their classroom. A local Tyler business, Oak Properties Development, owned by Steve Thornton & J.P. Davis, donated the supplies and labor to build these two gardens. What a blessing and unique opportunity for our students to be able to plant and care for a garden as a class! Mrs. Fritcher even came to help!
Through the process of cultivating and caring for their garden our PreK students will learn about God, his creation, and also about biology and how plants grow. In doing so, our students will be able to apply hands-on learning activities to science and their relationship with God and his world!
As the garden continues to thrive, having the right tools and space to organize supplies becomes just as important as the planting itself. That’s where a Duramax storage shed can make a world of difference. With a designated space to safely store watering cans, trowels, gloves, and seeds, the students can keep their gardening area tidy and ready for daily care.
Plus, learning to organize and maintain their tools teaches responsibility and stewardship—important life lessons that go hand-in-hand with tending to God’s creation. With the shed nearby, this little garden becomes not only a learning space but a well-equipped outdoor classroom for every curious young gardener.
