Remembering September 11th

Students from Jess Moore’s 10th Grade Humanities classes spent time in the Museum today reliving the day and events of September 11, 2001. They were given the task of becoming  a member of the Presidential Advisory Team for President George W. Bush and were charged with making decisions as the attacks unfolded and the information began trickling in throughout that day. They analyzed the President’s 9/11 address to the nation and compared his speech to speeches given by other US Presidents during times of crisis. As they watched and listened to President Bush’s address to the nation and his State of the Union address 9 days later, they witnessed how “a great people had been moved to defend a great nation” and they were reminded that  America’s resolve has, and always will be,  to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.
