6^th grade science students are exploring with two simple machines.  Experiments were performed with inclined planes and two kinds of pulleys – a fixed pulley and a movable pulley.  They discovered how much less work they had to do while using an inclined plane to lift a load and how pulleys help them do work by lowering the force or changing the direction of force.
