SPARC in Tyler
We had a variety of SPARC classes in the Tyler area this week. Students did a variety of special art projects at Creation Station SPARC, including handmade paper, silk screening, weaving, and touring the Tyler Museum of Art. In Game Design SPARC students created their own computer games using Microsoft Kodu software. We learned about scrapbooking, and about the impact of classic films on our society and the worldview of our culture. We wrote songs and honed our skills in archery, firearms safety, and marksmanship at Dogwood Hills Gun Club. We learned about hospitality and everything that goes in to planning and creating an incredible event. We participated in a variety of internships with veterinarians, physicians, engineers, and other professionals. Some of our students even considered theological and philosophical problems like sin and nihilism in their SPARC classes. We even explored comics and created our own! It was an incredible week of discovery and personal development that created the space for our students to pursue their passions and interests, while developing deeper relationships with their peers and faculty.
