Student Involvement at Brook Hill

From the desk of Dr. Stan Ward, Director of Campus Life & Ministry:

Students have numerous opportunities to get involved at Brook Hill. Besides our outstanding athletics and fine arts programs, we also have several campus life opportunities for students. Here is an overview of just a few ways students are getting involved.

  • Student Council – Our student council election for grades 9-12 is next Thursday. Besides grade level representatives, we also have student council representatives for athletics, boarding, fine arts and new students.
  • Prefects – Our prefect program allows students to work in small group or one-on-one projects with Brook Hill staff. Students may help individual teachers or academic and administrative departments.
  • Clubs – We have two kinds of clubs at Brook Hill: staff initiated and student initiated. Students can form their own club groups by defining their club’s purpose and identifying a staff sponsor, meeting room, and meeting time. Staff initiated clubs include student council, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a philanthropy club. Just this week, students have initiated a music club and art club as well.
  • Eighth Grade Servant Leaders – This week our 8th grade students began serving our chapel program by helping with sound levels, power point slides, signs for seating, and leading in prayer, the school hymn, and reciting the school verse, as well as concluding chapel with our Guard Charge. During each quarter, a different team of 8th grade students will help Dr. Ward make the middle school chapel program happen.
