To kick off their study of stoichiometry, Mr. Bunger’s Chemistry students placed a copper wire in a solution of silver nitrate and observed the growth of silver crystals. Not only does it provide an intriguing effect visually, it also provides some good lab data for the students to perform calculations and see how the formulas they’re learning work with real data from the lab.
