Third Graders led chapel service this week by sharing their passion for taking care of God’s creation. Proverbs 12:10 tells us that the righteous take care of their animals and this is just what the third graders with help from teachers and parents hope to accomplish. Mrs. Dahn and Mrs. Bickerstaff have inspired students to earn money and raise awareness for the needs of abandoned pets at the SPCA of East Texas. To date they have earned over $400.00 selling desserts and hope to raise $1,000 by year’s end. At chapel service, special guests visited from the animal shelter and Circle Star Pet Resort to explain how to approach an unfamiliar dog and how care for dogs. Students were able to interact with these furry friends. A favorite was a St. Bernard named Nana.
