Students have been learning about renewable, nonrenewable and inexhaustible resources in 6^th grade earth science.  In order to better understand the power of solar energy, students went outside to record temperature changes on three different surfaces over a period of 15 minutes.  Temperatures were recorded for sandy soil, grassy soil and a mixture of soils. It was good practice reading a thermometer while enjoying the energy of the Sun.
