8^th grade was tested Newton’s Laws of Motion in a film canister lab this week.  First, students used different sizes of tablets to launch canisters using the same amount of water.  Then, students changed the mass of the canisters by adding different coins to the bottom.  The canisters were laid on the ground and students observed the distance traveled by each canister after the reaction with the same size effervescent tablet.  The challenging part was identifying the force pairs and which law was observed where in the lab.
