The Makings of a Mega-Hit!
From the desk of Glenn Ballard, Fine Arts Director:
What do an Eagle Scout, a basketball player and a prima ballerina have in common?
(Imagine the theme music from Jeopardy playing while you ponder)
Give up?
Well, at the Brook Hill School, all of these are part of the 2016 Spring Musical production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Senior Chipper Adams, who plays the lead role of Tevye, is an Eagle Scout, and in the running to be the 2016 Valedictorian. Juniors Alec Kitt and Parker Galbraith, both cast as Russians in the show, are stars of the Brook Hill basketball team. And Savanna Holik, former principal dancer of the New York City Ballet and Brook Hill mom, is the choreographer for our production. Put them all together, along with thirty-one other students, six of which are middle schoolers, add some eye-popping costumes and sets, mix in some heart-pounding dance numbers, a truly gut-wrenching storyline, some of the best music ever composed, and top it off with the most experienced musical theatre collaboration team in the region, and you have the makings of a Mega-hit! There are reasons why many people believe that The Brook Hill Theatre program is the best. Consistently great literature, consistently great opportunities for the kids, consistently great coaching, and consistently great support from administrators, parents, the student artists and the directors.
Save the date for Fiddler….May 6,7, 13 and 14. And come see what all the hype is about!
