The Proof is in the Sibling

From the desk of Shawn Rhoads, Director of Residence Life:

You’ve probably heard the saying, “The proof is in the pudding,” meaning, until you have eaten a certain food, in this case pudding, you can’t know if it is good or not.  That may be true with food but not necessarily so in all other areas of life.  For instance, you don’t have to experience Brook Hill residence life personally to know whether or not it is good.  There is another proof you could look to.  In my estimation one of the most convincing marks of a great boarding school is whether or not a family will send others of their children to that school after having sent an older child.  If my estimation is correct, Brook Hill has a proven track record as a quality boarding school.  Some of the families who have sent a succession of their children to Brook Hill as boarding students are the Adams, the Nechi’s, the Lee’s, the Oluwole’s, the Nwosu’s, the Wegners, the Loolo’s, the Kim’s, the Javed’s and even more than these.  Others, like the Zapolskyy’s and the Cherng’s, have sent a child to Brook Hill as a boarding student and then actually moved to Texas for others of their children to attend our school.

To me this speaks volumes about how valued our school is because it communicates from a parent, “I’ve not only trusted you with my most valued possession, my child, but I’d be willing to do it again because I know what my other children will receive and experience while in your care and while enrolled as a student at Brook Hill.”  To all the families who have trusted us twice, or even more, thank you for trusting us multi-fold with your children.  And thank you for giving us the additional chances to also give your younger children the same comprehensive, college prep, Christ-centered, quality education that we provided for your older child.  The proof really is in the sibling.

God bless you all and have a wonderful Christmas Holiday.
