Third grade collects pennies for a mission
On Wednesday, third grade toured the Bullard Mission House. Their mission project this year is to collect 100,000 pennies to help this community service. They learned all about how this ministry blesses and provides food and clothes for the needy in the Bullard area and were made aware of others in need and how this facility provides for their needs. The mission house is to be finished in March, and the students and teachers of the Lower School are planning to go and purchase items needed to help get this new facility stocked with clothes and food. Why 100,000? In 3rd grade, students are to know place value up to one hundred thousand! They are able to see how much that truly is and how much 100,000 pennies weigh.
