Visual Arts are Soaring High
From the desk of Glenn Ballard, Fine Arts Director:
At the Brook Hill School, the visual arts are soaring to new heights. Not only are students learning from an award-winning, AP Certified art teacher; and not only are they growing in every facet of the visual arts from drawing to painting to sculpting to photography; but they are also using their artistic skills to support the amazing theatre program. The spring musical for 2016 is the highly acclaimed and always popular Fiddler on the Roof, which is now enjoying a revival production on Broadway. Mrs. Shelton’s Art 2 students are painting a 22’ high by 32’ wide sunset mural on the back wall of the stage to serve as the iconic backdrop for the show. The Art 2 class includes Ashlee Regester, Connor Sciarrini, Annie Owens, Kyla Carden, MiKayla Willis and Anna Luker. The cast is in full rehearsal mode; stagecraft classes are busy building sets; a professional choreographer is teaching high energy dance routines; and cast mates are learning the great show tunes of Fiddler, so you may expect to hear some of them as you visit the campus. Production dates are May 6, 7, 13 and 14. Stay tuned for more!
