2nd graders are learning about democracy and voting during great books week. Students read “Duck for President,” learning about campaigning and election process, while also learning the value and importance of voting in a democratic society. During the week, students campaigned for their candidate (either Duck or Farmer Brown), making signs and even giving speeches. As a culmination, students cast their votes for their candidate of choice! When all the results were win, students found out that Farmer Brown won!
