3rd Grade Invention Convention

Brook Hill 3rd Grade students have been hard at work making life better for others by creating a new invention!

Brook Hill’s annual Invention Convention was developed to teach research writing skills and foster creativity and problem solving. As part of the project, students research a famous inventor, write a research report about that inventor’s life and then create an original invention that solves a problem and makes life better and easier for people. As a culmination of the project, students create a display board about their invention and present them to judges along with family and friends.

Every year we award the top three original inventions. These inventions display creativity, make life better and easier for others, works, and is done by the student with minimal parent involvement.

We had some incredible inventions this year, and here are the winners:

1st Place: Jacob Grimes “The Easy Feeler” – a wallet designed to help the blind and vision impaired select the correct credit card or ID card.

2nd Place: Beck Langemeier “The Back Saver Door Stopper” – a door stopper with a tall extension to keep the elderly from having to bend over to remove or place a door stopper.

3rd Place: Jett Moore “The One & Only Lolli-Grill” – a mask with a lolli-pop to help ease nausea in cancer patients when they receive treatments
