WHAT TO EXPECT THROUGH THE ADMISSION PROCESS

At Brook Hill, we seek students and families whose ability, performance and promise suggests they will thrive in the school’s Christ-centered and college preparatory environment and who will contribute to the life of the school in a variety of areas such as the arts, athletics, leadership, and service. Students admitted to The Brook Hill School and their families are partnering with and consenting to the school’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. To achieve that end, there is a holistic process of admission that helps promote student success and a healthy partnership between our school and our families. For your convenience, the process to apply is outlined below.

CREATE VERACROSS ACCOUNT AND SUBMIT INITIAL INFORMATION

To begin the application, you will create your Veracross account and then complete the first few steps of the application process including a parent and student questionnaire, education history and payment of the application fee.

After you complete the first few items and submit the application fee, your applicant checklist will populate to include submission of the following:

Transcripts/ Report Cards – For all Upper School applicants and any Middle School applicants taking Upper School credited courses, we need a copy of your student’s transcript for all high school years and a progress report for this school year.

Teacher Recommendation Forms

School Records Including Attendance and Discipline

Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport

Copy of Immunization Record

English Proficiency Test (International students only; TOEFL and Duolingo accepted)

Readiness Assessment or Provided Recent Standardized Test Scores

Acceptable testing including STARR, MAP, iSee, SSAT, PSAT, SAT or ACT within the last 6 months or previously completed term. If your student(s) hasn’t taken any of these tests yet, we have an in-house assessment they can complete. Your admissions counselor will help you schedule this.

INTERVIEW

The admissions office will schedule an interview when necessary to complete the application process with the Division Principal, Head of School, or Admissions Director as appropriate.

DAY STUDENT APPLICATION

Brook Hill’s day school is available to students who live within driving distance of campus and are interested in entering Grades Pre-K through 12.

BOARDING STUDENT APPLICATION

Brook Hill’s boarding school is available to students who desire to live on campus and are interested in entering Grades 8 through 12.

FINANCIAL AID

At Brook Hill, Financial Aid is meant to help families afford a Brook Hill education who otherwise could not. By reducing the cost of tuition for qualifying families through financial aid, they are able to gain access to the world-class education we provide at Brook Hill.

ADMISSIONS POLICY

The Brook Hill School seeks students whose ability, performance and promise suggests they will thrive in the school’s challenging academic environment and who will contribute to the life of the school in a variety of areas such as the arts, athletics, leadership and service. Students admitted to The Brook Hill School and their families are expected to understand and consent to the school’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

A student’s acceptance at any grade level is contingent upon the student’s ability measured by standardized testing and a committee review of the student’s complete application. The Director of Admissions may require the student and/or parents to complete a personal interview as part of the application review process.

The Brook Hill School is a Christian School providing an education in a distinctly Christian environment, and it believes that its Biblical role is to work with the home to mold students to be Christ-like and exhibit behaviors consistent with Biblical principles. On those occasions in which the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home or the activities of the student are counter to, or in opposition to, the Biblical lifestyle, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student.

All New and Returning students and families must agree to and abide by the guidelines within The Brook Hill School Student Handbook.

Provisional Acceptance: School records or admissions data that indicates an academic or behavioral problem may result in the student being admitted provisionally. If the student shows the ability to be successful at Brook Hill, the provisional status may be lifted. If the student is not able to be successful, another placement may be recommended.
