Lady Guard Varsity sweeps past Frankston

Using a ferocious attack that produced 34 combined kills, the Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity overwhelmed Frankston to sweep their match, 25-20, 25-14, 25-15 on Tuesday at Herrington Gymnasium.

The victory raised Brook Hill’s record to 12-4 on the season.

Brook Hill survived an uneven first set in which the Lady Guard committed 10 hitting errors. The Lady Guard rebounded to produce eight errors on attacks combined in the next two sets. It added up to a comfortable evening at the office for Head Coach Candise Wise and her squad.

Senior Kay Kay Smith finished with a team-high eight kills with sophomore Morgan Carpenter delivering seven kills of her own. Junior Maddie Anthony finished with six kills and a team-high 15 assists. Senior setter Lauren Eden totaled 15 helpers.

When Frankston was able to put the ball past Brook Hill’s block, senior libero Brianna Young was waiting. Young finished with a team-high 34 digs with the Lady Guard as a whole producing an impressive 83 digs combined in the three-set victory.
