Oasis Day at The Brook Hill School

From the desk of Stephanie Williams, Community Service Coordinator:

Matthew 23:11-12 says, “The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

A unique aspect about Brook Hill being a Christian school is that we are able to share our faith on a daily basis with our students. Every faculty and staff loves the Lord and shares their joy of what God is doing in their lives with our students. And in advisory, our students have the opportunity to share what the Lord is doing in their lives.

During resurrection week, we are reminded of the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and His love for us. We then, take that message and help others in a physical way, showing them that Christ cares for them. We help many non-profits, schools, people who are struggling, etc. Our faculty and staff, think it is important for students to be able to act on their faith in a practical way and we exercise this as a campus. It gives everyone a deeper understanding of thinking of others, than just themselves.

Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his Life as a ransom for many.”

If Jesus Christ could humble himself to serve others, and He is the King of Kings and Lord or Lords, who am I to be too good to serve?

This is a part of my Saviors life, He called me to love Him and put nobody else before Him. Then He called me to love my neighbors as myself.

I think as a believer in Christ, it is our duty to serve others. It is our calling to serve others; because, we get the opportunity to be an example of Jesus to others. We are able to share our faith without using words. We are able to love our neighbors in a tangible way, providing eternal hope.
