Science & Adventure

Students had various experiences with science and nature and shared several adventures.  On Monday they toured “Tiger Creek” big cat rescue center and learned how and why big cats – lions, tigers, cougars and cheetahs – are rescued and rehabilitated.  Additionally trips to Tyler State Park and Hill Creek Park offered not only hiking adventures, but also the opportunity to learn how to use field guides to identify birds and trees.  Students hunted fossils for sharks teeth, sand dollars and coal deposits in Nacogdoches.  After having fun zip lining students were able to calculate their speed and acceleration.
