A group of very motivated fifth graders meet weekly to eat snacks and discuss the current book club selection, The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate.  Anna Marie Ward, the originator of the club, along with her officers: Josie Travis and Mia Fair, named the club “Between the Pages”. These young ladies helped  publicize and organize the club, including keeping track of who brings refreshments. They even made note of the allergies of club members so all can enjoy the snack.  The 13 member book club meets after school on Thursdays to read, to have meaningful conversations about the novel, and of course to  eat snacks.
