Technology, Plagiarism & Essays Go Mobile in Humanities

Ms. Cameron visited Ms. O’Brien’s ELL classes with Brook Hill’s new mobile computer lab on Tuesday. Students were introduced to Turnitin, a plagiarism tool utilized by over 15,000 high schools, colleges & universities worldwide. Students created their own Turnitin accounts and submitted a practice paper for review. This enabled students to better understand how Turnitin works as well as how plagiarism can affect them.

From now on, students will be able to submit their writing assignments through the Turn It In website, a valuable resource for writing, revising, and peer editing. Students can get immediate feedback on their essays to help them improve their writing.

Ms. O’Brien & Ms. Cameron also guided students through some basic Microsoft Word features and proper MLA formatting to help build better paper writing skills.

Thanks, Ms. Cameron, for showing us how to maximize our use of technology!
