About The Brook Hill School
Located on a beautiful 250-acre campus in Bullard, just south of Tyler in East Texas, The Brook Hill School (Brook Hill) is an evangelical, interdenominational school that currently serves 850 students in Grades PreK-12. What began in the early 1990s as one man’s dream is today a reality: a vibrant, independent, Christian day/boarding school with a three-fold mission that permeates every aspect of a Brook Hill education – Education, Potential, and Character.
Brook Hill provides a Christ-centered environment that engages the intellect, affirms and challenges the potential, and helps develop Christ-like character in each student. Top academics, championship athletics, enriching fine arts, beautiful facilities, and dedicated faculty are some of the many reasons Brook Hill believes it offers a one-of-a-kind education. The school seeks to honor Christ in all it does and help parents with the task of preparing their children for the future while equipping them with a Biblical worldview. Brook Hill has accomplished so much in its 26-year history by following a vision that strives for continual improvement and refuses to settle for “average.”
The Brook Hill School is fully accredited by Cognia and the Council on Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA).
The Head of School Opportunity
The twenty-six-year success story of The Brook Hill School is evidence of a God-given vision to the school’s founder, Mr. Stephen Dement, and his obedience to follow it. Campus facilities and grounds now resemble those of independent, college-preparatory schools found in the much larger metropolitan areas of Dallas, Nashville, or Atlanta, yet God has built Brook Hill through the hands of dedicated families in the town of Bullard, Texas.
In 2004, when the outgoing head of school, Rod Fletcher, assumed leadership of Brook Hill, the school had 157 students in grades 6 – 12 and operated on a $3M annual budget. Today, Brook Hill is expecting 850 day and boarding students PK-12 and operates on a $15M annual budget. The school’s endowment tops $7M, and it just completed a $29M comprehensive capital campaign for campus enhancements and the new Soules Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (slated to be finished later in 2024).
The school offers an unapologetically Christ-centered, programmatic, and comprehensive education that attracts broad interest. Brook Hill’s ethos of educating the whole child, seeing every student achieve their unique and individual potential, and an intentional focus on bringing together a vibrant international boarding program with a family-friendly day school enrollment has been contagious.
The stage has been set, and the opportunity now exists for Brook Hill’s next Head of School to lead confidently into the next 25 years by ‘refining what’s been defined’. The school is financially and operationally healthy, there is momentum in enrollment, a strong culture of generosity exists, facilities are top-notch, and there is a fully committed Christian faculty who are dedicated to loving, serving, and teaching students. It will be this Head of School’s unique opportunity to strategically lead Brook Hill into its next chapter by motivating, refining, and guiding all Brook Hill constituents and stakeholders toward continued excellence for God’s glory.
