SPARC Week (There’s also a Video)

From the desk of Rod Fletcher, Headmaster:

We do a lot of incredible things here at Brook Hill, but SPARC Week is one of my favorites.

Spring Potential and Reality Course (SPARC) Week is a week of non-traditional, experiential courses offered during the spring semester at Brook Hill. The purpose of the week is to make available to students a variety of courses that are not typically offered during the regular school year, which when taken, will expand and enhance a student’s educational experience, as well as strengthen their transcript.

This year, I took a group of high school guys, along with Shawn Rhoads, for a week of adventure on Catalina Island in California. We learned biblical principals of masculinity while also enjoying activities like fishing, hiking, swimming, and catching eels.

Here is a video about our week as a middle and upper school, and make sure to read all the stories from SPARC in the newsletter this week and next!
