Emily joined Brook Hill in 2023 after an eight-year adventure of teaching public school and doing youth ministry in New Mexico. She grew up in East Texas and graduated from Lindale High School in 2011. She then obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English and Associate’s degree in Bible from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. From there, she and her husband, Matt moved to Artesia, New Mexico, where she taught English (8th grade for 6 years and high school for 2) and he worked as a student pastor. She then received her teaching certification in Secondary ELA and a Master’s degree in English from Eastern New Mexico University.

She is thrilled to be serving at her dream job—sharing the love of Jesus with young people every single day. She and Matt currently live in Flint with their young daughters—Eleanor and Lucy—and their two dogs. She loves reading, spending time with her family, drinking coffee, having deep conversations, and playing games.
