Fourth and fifth grade make tiles for children in foster care

Fourth and fifth graders having been painting ceiling tile as part of their art class community service project. When finished, the ceiling tiles will be taken to The Refuge of Light Club House-a segment of The Refuge of Light Ministry located in Tyler.

Students were asked to work in groups to design a tile with a decorative border, a scripture or an encouraging word and a simple picture. Girls in Foster Care visit the Club House weekly to enjoy a time of worship, a lesson, a yummy meal and a craft or special activity of some kind. The tiles will go up with the other already painted tiles to remind the girls of the hope they have in Jesus and of God’s truth. The students enjoyed painting the tiles and planning together.
