The Brook Hill JV and JV2 volleyball teams battled Tyler Grace Community on Thursday with the JV falling in two games and JV2 emerging victorious after a hard-fought three set victory.

Brook Hill JV lost  25-11, 25-11 to drop to 2-7 on the season. The Lady Guard were led offensively by sophomore Madeline Reed (4 kills) and junior Autumn Webb (3 kills).

On defense, BH JV was paced by six digs by sophomore Kaitlyn Juarez and five digs from Reed.

Freshman setter Caroline Welty piloted the offense with seven assists.

In the JV2 match, Brook Hill won 2-1 after rallying back from a heartbreaking Game 1 loss, 26-24. The Lady Guard responded with authority in Game 2, 25-9, to force a deciding third game. Brook Hill kept its momentum to win the third game and match, 15-6 for the final 24-26, 25-9, 15-6 scoreline as BH JV2 won its second match of the season to raise its record to 2-7.

KeAirra Christopher (6), Claire Efobi (5), Chidi Nechi (5) and Sawa Nwosu (5) combined for 21 kills. Caroline Welty delivered 14 assists and Asia McGowen had a team-high four digs. Welty served six aces, and Christopher and Nechi each head a stuff block.
