JV Choir heads to the AFM
The JV Choir spent a class period in the museum recently hearing about the history of the five military hymns. The students learned how each of the five branches of the military developed their songs, highlighting the history and purposes and ambitions of each branch. One of the highlights of the lesson was learning about the grandfather of one of the choir students, Timothy Humphries. His grandfather fought in World War 2 and was in the Navy. Mr. Humphries’ actual uniform that he wore in WW2 is on display in the museum. After the lessons, the students gathered in the lobby and sang through an armed forces medley.
