6TH GRADE STUDENTS GET TO EXPLORE EARTH SCIENCE UP CLOSE
6th-grade students recently took a trip to the Rose Garden Center in Tyler for their Gem and Mineral Education Day!
Middle School science students had the opportunity to learn about gold mining, fossils, gem polishing, jewelry making, fluorescent minerals, and amber from fellow scientists and expert collectors who specialize in gems and minerals.
In addition to hands-on activities and demonstrations, students were able to see numerous pieces that were such a testament to God’s creativity and beauty as a designer.
After spending time exploring the exhibits students were able to purchase geodes if they wanted. Each geode was an example of individuality and mystery as students opened them after purchase!
