7th Grade Dissects Worms & Frogs

7th grade science students took hands-on learning to a new level as they dissected worms and frogs in Coach Collins class. Students cut open their specimen and identified all the internal organs, reinforcing their studies in the classroom. Students were able to identify organs like the heart, lungs, intestines, etc. and see it all first hand instead of in a book.

This is always an exciting lab for our 7th graders and they look forward to it every year. Not many students have the opportunity to dissect and observe specimen like this at such a young age, but Coach Collins believes lessons like this help cultivate a love for science in our middle school students and puts flesh on concepts and ideas they learn in class.
