The Brook Hill Athletic Department has announced today that Scott Ryle has been named as the new Head Football Coach at Brook Hill.

After receiving over 80 applications, resumes, and letters of interest, Ryle has been selected to lead BH Football into a new era.

Coach Ryle comes to Brook Hill with impressive credentials and was selected based on a criteria generated by Brook Hill Athletic Director Wally Dawkins and Headmaster Rod Fletcher.

After sifting through the over 80 candidates, a list of 20 that matched the criteria was selected, and phone interviews conducted by Dawkins narrowed the choice to 8 finalists.  After conducting additional phone interviews while bringing in potential candidates from both in state and out, Ryle was selected after Dawkins conducted a home visit to Ryle’s former school.

Scott Ryle has been the Head Coach at North Cobb Christian, a private Christian school just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, where he took a program that had been fledgling and led the school to the most wins in school history, and increased participation in football dramatically from 2012-2015.

Prior to coaching at North Cobb, Ryle brings Texas High School Football experience as well as TAPPS experience when he served as the Offensive Coordinator at Fort Worth Christian Southwest from 2010-2012.

From 1999-2009, Coach Ryle served as an Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Coach at Champaign (Illinois) Centennial and helped lead the Class 6A school to Illinois State Top Ten rankings in 6 of his 10 years.

Scott Ryle is also an Army Veteran, serving two tours of duty in Iraq in 2002 and 2006 as part of the Illinois Army National Guard where he was a Team Recon Leader and led a Force Protection Mission during operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Coach Ryle graduated from the University of Illinois in 2003 and received his Master’s Degree from Concordia University in 2011.

Scott has been married to his wife Stephanie who is a Nurse Practitioner for 14 years, and they have two sons Cameron, who is a third grader, and Zachary who is a first grader.

During Coach Ryle’s 17 years of coaching experience he has sent numerous players not only to play collegiately, but also to the NFL.

Brook Hill is extremely excited to welcome the Ryle Family to be a part of the Brook Hill Family, and looks forward welcoming them to our campus and the East Texas community.

“Scott Ryle is everything we were searching for” Brook Hill Athletic Director Wally Dawkins says.

“He will be a great mentor for our students as he models a strong Christian Faith and is a strong family man as well.  His experience and success in the game of football will go a long way in building our football program at Brook Hill to achieve new heights.  Scott also has the personality and the ability to form relationships with students, families, faculty members, and coaches that will generate energy, excitement, and enthusiasm.  One of his former employers told me that if we can get Scott Ryle, then you will have hit a home run.  We have hit a home run.”

Coach Ryle will begin his tenure at Brook Hill on March 28th.
