The Brook Hills are alive with the Sound of Music

From the desk of Glenn Ballard, Director of Fine Arts:

I am pleased to announce open auditions for the 18th annual spring musical production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein all-time favorite: The Sound of Music.

The musical was first performed on the Broadway stage in 1959 and was adapted into a world-famous movie version in 1965 (starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer). It is based on the true story of the Vonn Trapp family singers in 1938 just before World War II.

The production will require about 16-20 females and 10 males, and is open to all serious drama students in 6th through 12th grades. Auditions will be held in Room L-103 (the choir room) on Tuesday, January 16, through Friday, January 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. each day. For students interested in being a part of this year’s amazing production, please go by and see Mr. Ballard in Room L-105, and he will explain the audition process and give audition coaching to help every student do their best. Students wishing to audition should complete an audition form and sign up for an audition time with Mr. Ballard.

The show will be performed the first two weekends of May.
