By the end of Wednesday, November 19, lower campus Spanish students had brought in 1050 cans for the Tyler Rescue Ministry. The ministry helps families in crisis in the East Texas area. Mr. Maurice Barnes is the leader of the organization. He and Mrs. Partida, the Spanish teacher, attended East Texas Baptist College at the same time. 5th grade students will helped deliver the cans to Mr. Barnes on Thursday afternoon after school. The delivery was followed by a trip to Don Juan’s, an authentic Mexican food restaurant in Tyler. Many thanks to everyone who participated in the successful drive including the Bullard Brookshire’s which donated empty boxes so that we could carry the cans to Mr. Barnes!
