COVID-19 Update 4-1-20

Dear Brook Hill Families,

I hope that this email finds you healthy and safe. I am realizing now more than ever how rich and vibrant the Brook Hill community is and how much energy the springtime brings to The Brook Hill School – I miss that and I miss all of you tremendously. I long for the time when we are back together again!

This season has been difficult for everyone, but I also hope you are seeing glimpses of God’s grace. Personally, I am thankful for the education that our teachers are providing through Distance Learning and for your partnership in this new endeavor. While our education methods have changed, I firmly believe that our mission remains the same.

As you have probably heard, Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared yesterday that all Texas schools are to remain closed until Monday, May. 4.  The Brook Hill School will comply with this order.  Because of that, I wanted to make you aware of the following:

1. Distance Learning will continue until at least Friday, May 1.  We will update you as we receive additional information concerning expectations of Texas schools.

2. Families will have the opportunity to receive prorated refunds for unused room, board, lunch and trip payments.  More information concerning these refunds will be available to you by the end of next week.

3. We are considering all options concerning graduation, awards ceremonies, performances and competitions. We are working on ways to celebrate our students and I am hopeful that many of these events and activities will still take place.

4. TAPPS, our competition organization, has announced that their current plan is for practice to resume on Monday, May 4.

I hope that this email provides the information that you need to navigate this evolving situation.  At Brook Hill, we are working hard to provide students with a quality, Christ-centered education while helping them be successful as they learn from a distance.

Please know that I am praying for you daily.  Not being able to be on campus with students is very hard – I continue to hope that we will be together very soon.

May God bless you,

Rod Fletcher
