Famous Tall Texan Presentation by Fourth Graders
Fourth graders spent many hours researching a famous Texan from the past and creating a PowerPoint in the computer lab. This was collaborative project between teachers, Mrs. Ponce, Mrs. Dawkins, and librarian, Mrs. England. Students followed a research model as they accessed information from a credible source, used note-taking strategies, and cited sources. A PowerPoint was the tool used for recording information which was “spiffied up” by adding pictures, and inserting a timeline made from a template in Word. The completed project showcased their learning as they dressed in character telling about the life of their Texan using the PowerPoint as a visual aid.
