This past week we had the opportunity to pause and celebrate character, excellence, and achievement at our Lower School during chapel and it was such a great picture of how our students

Each quarter at our Lower School we take time during chapel to pass out awards and celebrate our students for things like scholarly achievement, service, Godly character, going the extra mile, and leadership. We want to foster a love for learning alongside their natural gifts and talents. For us, this looks like taking the time to consider our students, to know them and to not only push them towards their potential but to celebrate who they are and how they’ve grown.

As we watch Pre-K through 5th-grade students take the stage to accept their award, our hope is that they’re encouraged to keep growing and pursuing excellence. Not every student is given an award and this models to our students the value of diligence, hard work, and celebrating others!

Our Head of School, Rod Fletcher often says that “people grow into the conversations around them” and at Brook Hill Lower School it’s so exciting to watch that take shape in our classrooms and students’ lives.
