Guard give total team effort in win over Dallas Shelton

DALLAS — Brook Hill varsity boys coach Jacob Agnew called it one of those nights where it was tough to pick a player of the game.

Led by 12 points apiece from Ryan Cox and Colton Adams, the Guard went on the road Friday and came away with a 67-33 win over Dallas Shelton.

The victory raised the Guard’s record to 13-10 and evened their TAPPS District 2-4A to 2-2.

After a tight first quarter which saw Brook Hill grab a two-point lead, 11-9, the Guard erupted in the second quarter, outscoring Shelton 27-6 to lead 38-15 at halftime.

Brook Hill stayed on the gas in the third quarter, outscoring Shelton 21-9

“The boys came out to play and really turned it up in the second quarter,” Coach Agnew said. “There wasn’t just one or two guys that really stood out. Every played did throughout the game. They did what they were supposed to do and now we have a week to prepare for Gorman.”
