Guard lock up playoff spot with runaway victory

Brook Hill run roughshod over Dallas Shelton Monday, winning 7-2, to clinch a spot in the Division District 2 boys soccer playoffs.

Chidiebere Nechi had two goals and two assists to lead the Guard, which raised it overall mark to 9-8 overall and 8-5 in TAPPS Division II District 2.

Edmund Loolo also scored two goals with with Caleb Collins and Pierre Bakouetila adding single tallies. Mac Rose had two assists with Showa Domia also adding a helper. Goalkeeper Edikan Essien made seven saves.

The defense was led by Michael Nwosu, Matt Russell and Dalton Findley.

“It was a great team effort by everyone,” Guard coach David Collins said. “Our defense was (immense). We secured a playoff spot and finish up district against All Saints.”
