Guard MS Volleyball goes 1-3 at Edgewood

Brook Hill middle school volleyball sent four teams to face off with Edgewood in non-district play.

The Baby Guard 7th grade B team finished victorious, defeating Edgewood 2-0, 15-6, 15-9. The 7th grade matches and 8th grade B match featured 15-point games with the 8th grade A match featured the customary 25-point games.

The Baby Guard 7th grade A team was stopped 2-0 by Edgewood, 25-17, 25-18.

In the 8th grade B match, the Baby Guard rebounded from dropping the first game 15-2 to answer back and with Game 2 15-10 and force a third and deciding game. Brook Hill couldn’t quite complete the comeback, falling 15-13 in that final game.

In the 8th grade A match, the Baby Guard battled throughout the opening game, only to be denied, 25-23. Brook Hill couldn’t recover in the second game to ultimately fall, 25-23, 25-14.

Brook Hill volleyball coach Candise Wise said the teams are improving with each match as they challenge themselves against bigger schools.

“It was a tough night, but the girls played against great Edgewood teams,” Wise said.

The Baby Guard teams will next be in action Thursday in Palestine.
