Guard put it all together in 75-46 win over Tyler Grace
TYLER — Brook Hill grabbed a much-needed district victory on Friday by defeating Tyler Grace Community 75-46.
The Guard went ahead with a strong first half before blowing it open with a 29-point third quarter.
Brook Hill drained nine 3-pointers as a team with Reid Hill accounting for five as part of his team-leading 19 points. Alec Kitt connected on two from long range as part of his 14 points. Miguel Vega (13) and Jacob Yeager (10) also scored in double figures for the Guard.
“We played some good basketball tonight,” Guard coach Jacob Agnew said. “We got into a good rhythm and things really started going our way. It al started with our defense getting deflections and turning steals into some easy baskets.
“That got us going and we finally shot the ball the way that we can. It was a great win and hopefully will give us some momentum going forward.”
The Guard (10-13) moved to 2-2 in TAPPS District 3-5A with their victory and next face Tyler Bishop Gorman, which is tied for first at 3-1. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brook Hill’s Herington Gymnasium.
